Applied Equine Podiatry is based on the formula Structure + Function = Performance. By completing a spectrum of usability form for each of the structures of the hoof, we are able to see the progress our horses are making, which structures are healthy or which structures may be in need of conditioning via correct environmental stimuli. Correct physiological function of the hoof can only be achieved through the removal of shoes and by allowing the horse to make use of his innate ability to heal himself. Only when the correct health of the structures have been resumed can we achieve correct function and our goal - high performance.
